Giving God, who in this season of harvest provides us once again with an abundance of good things, we thank and bless you for the tastes and textures and colors which delight our souls no less than our bodies, even as they remind us of your great mercy, toward us and all your children of earth; through him who is the surest sign of that mercy, our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
Gracious Lord, who turned water into wine that the party might continue, and who in the bread and cup of communion raises a foretaste of the heavenly banquet feast, help us to make this meal a celebration of life and love, that this moment of good food with dear friends may be yet another toast to your eternal kindness. Amen.
Food and drink aplenty have we received from your hands, providing God. And they are the tokens of your unfailing care, surrounding us with mercy at every turn. Nourish us body and soul that today and in all the days allotted us on earth we may not only gratefully receive, but joyously share your bounty; through him in whose name we gather and by whose grace we enjoy your goodness, our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
